The Hill

This one was started in 2006 and got about two thirds of the way done when I must have moved and filed it away. Recently I rediscovered it and decided to finish it. This is exactly why I usually just do monochrome with ink and graphite then add colour in Photoshop because physical colouring just takes too long to get my desired effect. Pigment liners and pencil crayons on paper.

Digital Paint I

A few select digital paintings from 2003-2005. I made these with customized standard and art history brushes in PS all created from scanned images of physical artistic media.

Eminent Domain, April 2nd, 2011

Eminent Domain, a monthly concert series of improvised experimental sound at Somewhere There Studio, Toronto. I performed a duet with William Davison of the Recordists for the April installment of the series. Other performers included a duet between Chris Strickland on amplified acoustic guitar & Joda Clément on his MS-20 synthesizer and a trio with Pau Torres playing synthesizer, Tomasz Krakowiak on percussion and Chandan Narayan on Auto-harp and Swaramandal. My setup was based around patching in a Kaossilator and a home-built Thingamagoop 2 into the CV input channels on my Yamaha CS-15D. The Kaossilator also went out to a Kaosspad Mini accompanied by dual Buddhamachines set slightly out of phase from the other. While all this was going on, William had many types homemade goodies and hacked toys with other unconventional instruments such as a shell with contact microphone played with a violin bow. Much to our disappointment the show was not recorded. Recording devices won't be neglected in the future. Special thanks Joda and Chandan for having us and to Nigel for the photos.

Red Mother

Skateboard design for Steam Whistle Brewery's Design a deck art show 2009 at the Baitshop Gallery, Toronto. Created in photoshop using a drawing tablet and below is the final painted skateboard along side the original design. I hand painted it on the board with acrylic and inks, then a few layers of gloss. Another fun project with the brewery.

The Hunter & other characters

Conceptual designs I created for the animated film '9', unfortunately as far as I know they were not used. However, I believe there is a sequel in the works. My website is still offline at the moment but I hope to have it back up soon.

Dreams of the Automatist

I'm working on a new series consisting of further studies concerning surrealist automatism and modulation technique. These two pieces are sort of prototypical for what I'm currently working on right now, large pencil works and even a few pieces I'm carving from wood. As the series progesses I will post updates and finally hope to exhibit them some place once completed.
